This is the poem my Dad wrote for our anniversary card (2 days before we depart to New Zealand and see the southern sky for the first time):
Claim Acrux, the brightest star in the Southern Cross, as your own.
Acrux is two stars orbiting each other, so far away you see them as one.
Know wherever you are in the time to come, Acrux is shining and you are one.
I have to admit, when I read it I thought it was from a book. But later he told us he got inspired after watching a show on astronomy and thinking about the southern sky. I told him I think he has a real future writing Hallmark cards :).
